How to Enter into CA Course?
- Start CA Course through CPT Route
- Enter into CA Course through Direct Entry

- Enroll with the ICAI Institute for Common Proficiency Course (CPC) after passing class 10th examination
- Appear in CPT examination after appearing in the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination)

About Common Proficiency Test (CPT)-
CPT is entry Level Examination for CA course. It contains 4 papers, which are objective type requiring students to answer 200 Multiple Choice questions with negative marking for choosing wrong answers. It comprises of two sessions of two hours with a break between two sessions.
Fundamentals of Accounting of 60 marks, Mercantile Laws of 40 marks.
Total time allotted is 120 minutes.
General Economics of 50 marks, Quantitative Aptitude of 50 marks.
Total time allotted is 120 minutes
Negative marking of 0.25 mark.
Student has to obtain minimum 100 marks i.e. 50% of total Marks(200) for passing CPT
CPT Examination is now conducted two times a year, in June and December.
IPCC- Integrated Professional Competence Course
IPCC is the second level of the CA course conducted by the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). After getting through CPT, students can appear for this course. The examination at the end of the course is identified as IPCE (Integrated Professional Competence Examination).
IPCC includes the core and allied subject related to the profession of Accountancy. The course is divided into 2 groups containing total seven subjects. The first group has 4 subjects and the second group has 3.
The student is required to undergo 100 Hours of ITT with ICAI after registration for IPCC
Students should register themselves for IPCC at least 9 months before examination
The eligible students should have passed CPT and 10 + 2 Exam or Commerce Graduates/Post-Graduates (55%) or Other Graduates/Post-Graduates (60%) or Candidates who have passed intermediate level examination of ICSI or ICWAI.
Conducted twice a year in May and in November.
Each paper consist of 100 marks, Passing % = 40% in each Subject & Aggregate 50%
Articleship begins after passing IPCE. To begin Articleship student should pass at least Group 1 (not necessarily Both Groups) of IPCE and should have completed ITT of 100 Hours. Stipend is paid during the Articleship period. The duration of articleship is of 3 years. The unique requirement of practical training is instrumental in shaping a well-rounded professional.
Here, the student must have cleared both the groups of IPCE and 2 ½ years of articleship. CA final consists of two groups having 4 subjects each, where passing percentage is 40 in each subject and with 50% aggregate.
After passing CA final, enroll as a member of ICAI and be designated as a Chartered Accountant.
