Course / Training

For students who are interested in Indian Economics Service have to compulsorily have a post graduate degree from a recognized university in Economics or Applied Economics or Business Economics or Econometrics. Whereas candidates interested in Indian Statistical Service have to compulsorily have a post graduate degree in Statistics or Applied Statistics or Mathematical Statistics.

UPSE conducts a written exam for IES/ISS in the month of November. The exam is conventional essay type test for 3 hours. Subjects as well as marking scheme for both the exams are as follows.

The syllabus for General English and General Studies is of undergraduate level and the syllabus for Economics and Statistics is of post graduate level. Successful candidates who clear the written exam are then required to appear for a grueling session of personal interview.
