From late fall to early spring, the weather is mild, averaging a minimum of 60°F (16°C). The coldest months are from November to February, with temperatures ranging from 40–75°F (4–24°C), with occasional frosts. The summer months of June through September bring a dry heat ranging from 90–120°F (32–49°C), with occasional high temperatures exceeding 125°F having been observed in the desert area.
The largest employer in Arizona is the state government while Walmart is the largest private employer. The total gross state product of Arizona in the year 2011 was $259 billion. As a result, Arizona’s economy is larger than that of Ireland, Finland, and New Zealand. The largest industries in Arizona are health care, transportation and the government.
Three public universities govern the education in Arizona majorly: Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. Arizona Board of Regents controls these. The state’s only non-profit four-year private colleges are Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott and Prescott College.
