Change in SSC 2016
As per 1st July 2016 notification of Staff Selection Commission, scheme of examination for SSC combined graduate level examination 2016 has been changed.
SSC CGL aspirants please note that the Commission has decided
- There is reduction in the Number of Questions from 200 to 100 in Tier-I of SSC CGL 2016 Exam and it would continue to carry 200 marks.
- The duration of the Tier-I examination would be of 75 minutes.
- The mode of The Tier-I and Tier-II exams will now be computer based place of OMR based examination mode.
- Tier-I is scheduled to begin from 27th August, 2016.
A. Tier I : Pattern for the Exam
The Computer based exam will consist of objective type papers of 75 minutes for all and 100 minutes for visually handicapped.
i. General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Questions of 50 Marks)
ii. General Awareness (25 Questions of 50 Marks)
iii. Quantitative Aptitude (25 Questions of 50 marks)
iv. English Language and Comprehension (25 Questions of 50 marks)
There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Tier I.
B. Tier II: Pattern for the Exam: Computer based exam. Rest is same for Tier II as mentioned before.
C. Tier III: In addition to above, the Commission has also decided to introduce a Pen and paper based Descriptive Paper of English/Hindi (Writing of Essay/ Precis / Letter / Application Writing etc.) of total 100 marks with time duration of 60 minutes for all and of 80 minutes for visually handicapped in Tier-III.
The Question Paper will be bilingual. The candidates will have the option to choose any one medium.
D. Tier IV: Data Entry Skill test (DEST) / Computer proficiency test (CPT) (wherever applicable) of qualifying nature. Rest will be same as mentioned in original notification.
The final merit will be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. However, the candidate will need to qualify all the tiers i.e. Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III separately. There will be no sectional cut-off.
Document Verification will also be conducted as per the provisions of the notice of examination.
