LIC Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO)
Assistant Administrative Officer is abbreviated as AAO. It is one of the major vacancies under Life Insurance Corporation (LIC). After 3 years of working as Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) they can be promoted to Administrative Officer (AO). This adds on more powers and authority. Administrative Officer (AO) and Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) belong to the class I officer group.
The job profile involves:
- Devising new schemes and inspecting policies
- Managing and filling claims and client interactions
- Coordinating with other departments, about a scheme / policy, provide assistance, etc.
AAOs can choose any of the areas from Administration, Development and Accounts. In Administration AAOs handle policy making, policy claims up to certain limit, checking clauses and details, filing official returns and statements to higher regional offices etc. The Development AAOs deal with marketing and procurement of business, promoting policies, getting contracts etc. The Accounts AAOs manage the funds including incomes and expenses of the corporation.

Candidates are necessarily required to apply On-line through LIC’s website www.licindia.in under the heading “Careers’’. No other means / mode of applications will be accepted. The payment can be made by using only Master / Visa Debit or Credit Cards or Internet Banking.
Application Fees for AAO exam
The application fees / intimation charges is a subject to change. As per recruitment notification of 2014
- For SC/ST/ PWD Candidates: Intimation Charges of Rs. 50/- plus Transaction Charges
- For all Other Candidates: Application Fee-cum-Intimation Charges of Rs. 500/- plus Transaction Charges.

The examination is conducted at the following eight Zonal Centers of the Corporation:
- Central: Bhopal
- East: Kolkata/Greater Kolkata
- East Central: Patna
- North: Delhi/NCR
- North Central: Kanpur
- South: Chennai
- South Central: Hyderabad/Ranga reddy
- West: Mumbai/Greater Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane
Eligibility for AAO exam
The age eligibility is also subject to change. As per notification of 2014 it should be between 21 years to 30 years. Age relaxations are also available for reserved classes.
Exam Pattern for AAO Exam
The structure of the Examination which will be conducted online is as follows:

Candidate must pass in each Section separately and should also obtain minimum marks in the aggregate to qualify for the interview. The minimum marks to be obtained in each Section and in the aggregate shall be decided by LIC of India. English Language test is of qualifying nature and the marks in English Language will not be counted for ranking
Selection Procedure for AAO exam
Selection of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) is made on the basis of performance in the on-line test followed by a personal interview and subsequent Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination.
Salary Package for AAO
Basic pay of Rs. 17,240/- per month in the scale of Rs. 17240- 840(14) –29000– 910(4) –32640 other admissible allowances as per rules.
