RRB entrance exam drew approximately 10 Lakhs candidates last year. IBPS is all set for recruitment of Officer Scales and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) as per latest notification. The online registration of application begins from 18th June 2014 ends on 9th July 2014.

Eligibility

Age

  • For Officer Scale III - Above 21 years - Below 40 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1974 and later than 31.05.1993 (both dates inclusive).
  • For Officer Scale II - Above 21 years - Below 32 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1982 and later than 31.05.1993 (both dates inclusive).
  • For Officer Scale I - Above 18 years - Below 28 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1986 and later than 31.05.1996 (both dates inclusive).
  • For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) - Between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should have not been born earlier than 02.06.1986 and later than 01.06.1996 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification​

1. Office Assistant

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent

 (a) Essential: Proficiency in local language*

 (b) Desirable: Knowledge of Computer skills. 

2. Officer Scale-I

i. Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent. Preference will be  given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics Accountancy; 

ii. Proficiency in local language * 

iii Computer knowledge or awareness will be an added qualification. 

3. Officer Scale-II

(a) General Banking Officer: Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy. And experience of 2 years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

(b)Information Technology Officer: Degree from a recognised University in Electronics/Communication/Computer  Science/Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc and experience of 1 year.

(c)Chartered Accountant: Certified Associateship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with 1 year experience.

(d)Law Officer: Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. A candidate should have experience of 2 years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period not less than 2 years. 

(e)Treasury Manager: Certified Associateship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution with 1 year experience. 

(f)Marketing Officer: MBA in Marketing from a recognized university with 1 year experience. 

(g)Agricultural Officer: Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/  Veterinary Science/Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with 2 years experience. 

4. Officer Scale-III

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy. A candidate should have minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions.

All educational qualifications should be from a recognized university / Board.

The Exam

There is online objective type test followed by interview.

Syllabus for IBPS RRB

IBPS RRBs is divided into three regions viz. A, B & C and the states which fall under each region are as follows:

  • Region A: Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand States and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, National Capital Territory of Delhi Union Territories
  • Region B: Gujarat, Maharashtra and Punjab States and Chandigarh Union Territory
  • Region C: All other States and Union Territories not included in the A and B Regions

These regions are categorized further under two groups:

  • Group I: It contains region A & B. For group I candidates can answer the language tests either in English or Hindi language.
  • Group II: It contains region C. For group II candidates can answer the language test in English language only.

Selection Procedure

  • The CWE of IBPS qualifies candidates to become eligible for recruitment.
  • The ultimate recruitment will be by each participating RRB who will independently issue a separate recruitment notification, specifying vacancies and stipulating the eligibility criteria, as desired by respective RRBs in terms of age, educational qualification, proficiency in Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancy a candidate wishes to apply, experience (if any), minimum required level of IBPS score in each component test plus Total Weighted Standard Score etc.

How to apply

  • A candidate can apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of Officer. However a candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale-III.

  • Candidates have to apply separately and pay fees separately for each post.

  • Candidates need to apply online through official website of the bank www.ibps.in between 18th June 2014 and 9th July 2014.

  • Candidates have to apply online but the mode of payment can be done online as well as offline.

  • Candidates can do online payment through Master/Visa debit card/ credit card/ internet banking.

  • Candidates can do offline payment also. Payment of fee/ intimation charges through the offline mode can be made through the CBS branches of any one of the following 7 Public Sector Banks- Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India

  • They need to take out print out of system generated fee payment challan and present it at any of the above branches with the requisite fee.

Application Procedure

  1. Candidates must scan their photographs and signatures.

  2. After filing the application form, they have to submit the data or save it.

  3. After this the candidates will get a provisional registration number and password. They should note it down for further usage.

  4. Candidates must take out the printout of the application form before submitting it online

  5. Three days after the payment of fees, the candidates will receive registration confirmation either by SMS/ Email
