TOEFL TIP A DAY : FOUR
Often a candidate is able to score well in the writing section despite a few spelling or punctuation errors. That is because the writing section is testing your ability to express in English more than the technicalities. They are observing the organization of your thoughts and expression.
TIP: Make a sequence of your response in your mind before writing it down. You may also use the rough notes to jot down points line-wise. Use phrases such as ‘First, second, last’ to indicate that you have thought about the points on advance. Never forget to conclude the piece using phrases such as ‘this may be deducted’ or ‘finally’ or ‘In conclusion’ etc.
