TOEFL TIP A DAY : ONE
Speaking: The hurdle
What’s the biggest hurdle in the speaking section of the TOEFL? Some say incomprehensible accent. Others will say pronunciation. Yes, if you have not prepared well, these are definite hurdles. Yet, the biggest hurdle comes despite a great preparation. And that hurdle is – the noise of other candidates speaking at the same time.
TIP: Devise a strategy. Attempt and finish your listening section first. Then go for a break. By the time you come back, many others would start to go for their breaks. As a result, you would be either left alone to attempt the speaking section in silence or there would be very few like you in the room – definitely lesser noise than the entire test room sounding with people!
